This service will benefit elementary aged students enrolled in a Francophone or French Immersion program who require French reading practice beyond the classroom walls.
Unlike other programs, all of our tutors are teachers who have experience in the classroom.
Please fill out our contact form. Once you have requested to have your child tutored online, we will contact you to schedule the date and time of an initial reading evaluation for your child. We All reading evaluations are conducted by reading recovery and resource teachers. All you require is a computer head set.
Instructions are sent to parents a day or two prior to our initial evaluation. Please log on a few hours before our scheduled reading evaluation to perform your audio set-up to ensure that both your microphone and your headset are working properly. Simply click on TOOLS on the horizontal toolbar, then click AUDIO, and AUDIO WIZARD SETUP. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process. This only takes a few minutes but, it must be completed prior to the beginning of each lesson to ensure you are not spending tutoring time trouble shooting.
Course times and dates are flexible and can be scheduled to suit your needs. Parents must commit to a minimum of 1 half hour a week to remain in the program.

Cancellation Policy: Any request to change or cancel a session must be received in writing via email at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session. However, many teachers will accept cancellations a few hours before a scheduled session. Please discuss rescheduling options with your assigned teacher. We understand that emergencies & illness may arise on occasion. Please contact your teacher asap to cancel & reschedule your session. Teachers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a class due to instructor illness. In the case that a course is cancelled, parents will notified before the intended session. If you are unable to access a course for technical reasons, please call us at (902) 229-8922 and we will be more than happy to assist you. If after reasonable troubleshooting we have determined that Blackboard Collaborate is at fault for a technical error that will restrict access to a scheduled session, then you are entitled to a refund. It is both the teacher and parent's responisibility to conduct an 'AUDIO WIZARD SETUP' at least 10 minutes before a scheduled session. In no other cases will we refund for technical problems relating to accessing online sessions.
